STOP! It's your face we're talking about
I have been tattooing since 1994 and I am always amazed at the horror stories my customers share with me. Bad artwork, disreputable shops, artists high on drugs or alcohol; any of which can be avoided with a little common sense and a pro-active initiative. Fortunately a bad tattoo on an arm can be worked on to make it look better, but what about your face? When it comes to facial makeup, we are not talking about large areas of skin getting tattooed. Eye liner, after all, is only a small curved line. Here is a story I tell my customers who can't understand why I consider a small tattoo to be more difficult than a large one. A young girl wanted a small heart tattooed on her foot with the Italian flag colors within the heart. Not to be obvious, but a heart is created by two curved lines. Ruin one line and you have ruined 50% of the tattoo. Unfortunately for this girl the artist who did her tattoo ruined both lines, making the entire tattoo look horrible. Then to top it off, the colors were improperly put in and the whole tattoo looked horrible. I bring this story up for a couple of reasons; Eye liner, as I mentioned, is nothing more than a single curved line under the eye. One little mistake and you have ruined 100% of the tattoo. Secondly, unlike the heart on the foot, facial tattoos can not be hidden by clothing. You will need to constantly correct it with makeup, which negates the reason for getting permanent cosmetic. Educate yourselfAs the saying goes, "an ounce of prevention avoids a pound of regret." When it comes to permanently modifying your face, the first thing you should do is educate yourself about what you are getting into. There are many web sites available online containing valuable information regarding permanent cosmetics. Studio HoursTattooing is done on a "by appointment only" basis.
